Saco Grassland Bird Habitat Project
Working on a grant with The Cornell Lab of Ornithology, The Collaborative and project partners are working to create awareness about grassland bird habitat conservation methods in the watershed.
Ag Allies are providing the expertise as The Ecology School provides the location at River Bend Farm. UNE students are engaging in various capacities from classwork to internships. Together we are learning about the site’s habitat and developing a management plan. This work will be shared throughout the watershed to encourage other land owners to do the same. Project Updates
Soil Test at River Bend Farm
With the help of NRCS the team took a soil sample to be tested. The results will help drive the development of the management plan to best support grassland bird habitat for The Ecology School.
UNE Students Share Outreach Materials
Students in The Environment and Society course developed outreach materials to help create educational opportunities for the project.
