Saco Grassland Bird Habitat Project

Working on a grant with The Cornell Lab of Ornithology, The Collaborative and project partners are working to create awareness about grassland bird habitat conservation methods in the watershed.

Ag Allies are providing the expertise as The Ecology School provides the location. Together we are learning about the site’s habitat and developing a management plan. This work will be shared throughout the watershed to encourage other land owners to do the same. Scroll down to learn more about the partners, project updates and events.

Ag Allies

Ag Allies works with Maine landowners and land trusts to increase the nesting success of grassland birds through on-farm incentive payments, technical assistance, outreach and education.

They are bringing their expertise to this project, assessing the habitat at the site and developing a management plan.

The Ecology School at Riverbend Farm

With over 300 acres along the Saco River, The Ecology School provides interconnected environmental education experiences to all ages.

They have partnered on this project with the commitment to learn more about their grassland bird habitat and implement conservation recommendations for long-term solutions.
